"Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the LORD. Isaiah 66:9
We are standing at the doorway of a new year. In fact, we are in the year of the "open door" prophetically on the Hebrew calendar.
It's time to cross over, and go further up and further in to the promises God has for you.
It's time to advance and not shrink back.
You are pregnant with promise from God. You are expecting, and you may not even know it.
You are on the cusp of breakthrough ... and yet, at the same time, I have been discerning that many people are feeling the urge to give up now more than ever.
Even before I sat to write this, I felt the battle taking place. I thought, Lord, I feel tired of believing. Will you come through for us? I looked at my laptop and I saw the time: 11:11 AM. This time reminds me of Deuteronomy 11:11 and stepping into the promised land.
But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. Deuteronomy 11:11 NIV I heard the Lord whisper to me, "Prophesy, Mariel. Remember that your words carry breakthrough and release faith. Remember, when you face wall after wall on the way to your promises, and your situation looks like it won't budge, I am God of the impossible. I work my most miraculous miracles in impossible situations."
Those who have been praying and believing for breakthrough in long-standing situations, this is for you.
Those who are believing for encounters with the Lord and spiritual refreshment and renewal.
Those who are believing for their kingdom spouse.
Those who are believing for marriage restoration. Those waiting to become mothers and fathers.
Fathers and mothers who are waiting for their natural and spiritual kids to return to and follow Jesus.
Those who are believing for a breakthrough in their health, finances, and calling. Those believing for direction, good reports, good news, and settlements. Those who are waiting on the open door and the "yes!" and "approved!"
Those who are contending for inner healing and deliverance and the breaking of generational cycles.
Those who who are hoping against all hope in painful challenges and setbacks.
Those who have been contending for the birthing of their promises. Although I may not know your specific promise, God does. God has not forgotten the promises he's whispered to you over the weeks, months, and years.
As we enter into the new year, I want to share some prophetic insight to help you persevere towards God's plans, purposes, and promises for your life.
The Ring of Fire
Many have approached the ring of fire in their process to their promises from God.
In the birthing process, the“ring of fire" is a transitional moment when the baby’s head is crowning.
It’s in a moment like this a mother may experience the most intense kind of pain.
It’s here, where you will feel like you want to give up, like you can’t make it another moment ...
that the baby is birthed. The promise finally arrives.
In this "ring of fire" moment on the process to your promise, you may want to give up.
You can’t give up. You must PUSH. You can't abort the process.
God’s promises are nearer now than ever before.
I am reminded of the phrase "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear" that appears on the rearview mirror of cars. God remembers the word he spoke to you behind you in the past. Your promises are chasing you down. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6 NLT
You’re going to persevere through the difficulty and behold the promise with your own eyes.
Prophetic Word: The Barren Will Sing
I hear the Lord saying, "The barren will sing with joy! Yes, you who haven't held your own promise will experience the miracle of expansion. You who have witnessed others possess their own promises, I have not forgotten you. I have remembered you. I am preparing a beautiful feast when you have only been expecting crumbs, the bare minimum. I am preparing a beautiful answer in the midst of your waiting and believing. You will not be labeled as barren anymore. Expect a gift in the shift of this new year. I will get glory when I break through what others say is impossible. Your family members, doctors, and even experts will be amazed when I breakthrough. I will get glory from your story as you bear good fruit in your life."
“Sing, barren woman,
you who never bore a child;
burst into song, shout for joy,
you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband,”says the Lord.
“Enlarge the place of your tent,
stretch your tent curtains wide,
do not hold back; lengthen your cords,
strengthen your stakes.
For you will spread out to the right and to the left;
your descendants will dispossess nations
and settle in their desolate cities. Isaiah 54:1-3 NIV
Warfare at the Doors of Destiny
As we advance into the new territory God has for us, we need to be aware that there is often warfare at the doorways of our destiny.
As you stretch and enlarge like Sarah in Isaiah 54, You're taking new ground. You're kicking the giants out of your promised land.
As unusual battles pop up to oppose your promises, do not be discouraged or confused. God is advancing you. You are being promoted. He will give you a grace to breakthrough. Here are 3 Steps to victoriously deal with warfare.
1. DISCERN
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12 NIV
If you are a feeler and have the gift of discernment, you may feel an increase of heaviness, lethargy, discouragement, and despair.
Spiritual warfare tip: you can get instant relief from the pressure of warfare as soon as you realize you may be picking up on the spiritual atmosphere around you.
There's nothing wrong with you. You have a gift. Your gift of discernment is being used by the Lord to know what battle is taking place. Ask God to increase your discernment! He gives freely and generously to those who ask.
2. PRAY, DECLARE, and PROPHESY THE OPPOSITE
When you discern the spiritual battle taking place, you can now know how to strike the target in prayer with clarity.
For example, if you are picking up on heaviness, begin to worship to lift it off and shift the atmosphere.
Declare and pray Isaiah 61:3 that God is giving "the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."
Remember: your battle isn't against flesh and blood, the people around you. This is a spiritual battle. Spiritual warfare tip: humbling yourself and showing love and communicating with truth and love to others in the midst of spiritual warfare coming at you through other people is a powerful way to disarm the enemy and release the kingdom of God.
3. STAND IN YOUR AUTHORITY
If you are a son or daughter of God, Jesus has given you authority. The thing about authority is, you must learn to assert it.
If you look at spiritual warfare you face as an opportunity to grow in your spiritual authority, the game changes.
This is your strength training.
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19 NIV
You need to activate your voice in prayer, and begin to take authority over the atmosphere. And when you do, stand in your authority and the truth of Jesus Christ.
Victoriously Transition Over into 2024
Remember: Your promises and promised land are closer than before.
You need to stand strong and not give up. Do not retreat. It’s time to advance.
You won't go around the mountain again. You don't need to wander in the wilderness.
You are taking ground. Your promises are nearer now that before.
So, have courage. Stand in your authority,
Let your faith arise again. Keep going. Let God fill your heart with hope again. There is hope on the horizon.
You are going to see God's faithfulness breaking through in ways you couldn't imagine in 2024.
