Miracles of Light | Prophetic Word December 2025

ree

It's time to dare to hope in the dark. Yahweh is a God of late-night, last-minute miracles. He meets us when we feel empty and dry, and fills us to overflowing. Miracles of light are breaking through.

Prophetic Insight: Hanukkah, the Feast of Dedication

I want to share some prophetic insights from the Jewish calendar if you're new here, welcome! I occasionally share about biblical and prophetic meanings behind the Jewish calendar to discover what God is saying to us as followers of Jesus today.

This year, Hanukkah begins the evening of Sunday, Dec 14, 2025, and ends on Monday, Dec 22, 2025. Hanukkah means "dedication" and is also known as the Feast of Dedication and the Festival of Lights. This feast takes place during the Jewish month of Kislev, which is a time to celebrate God's miracles in the dark.

Let's talk about what it means prophetically for us.

Light up the Darkness

This feast is a time to celebrate the re-dedication of the Holy Temple after miraculous victories by the Jewish people from 165-164 BC. To put this event into a little more context, this happened during the 400 "silent years" before Jesus arrived on the scene.

Though greatly outnumbered, the Jewish people, led by Judas Maccabees, secured a victory against their enemies and regained the Temple that had been desecrated by worship of other gods. They rebuilt the altar and rededicated the Temple on the 25th day of the month of Kislev.

As the translators of the Net bible state, "From a historical standpoint, it was the last great deliverance the Jewish people had experienced, and it came at a time when least expected.

The victory was unexpected. But there's more to the story ...

The Hanukkah Miracle

When the Jewish people rededicated the temple, they needed a critical component: oil for the temple lamp. According to tradition, the lamp must always be kept burning.

The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Leviticus 6:12

However, the problem was that they only had enough oil to keep the lamp burning for one day.

The Hanukkah miracle is that the small amount of oil lasted for eight full days!

The lamp miraculously burned in the dark when all hope seemed to be lost.

When the odds were stacked against God's people, he delivered them.

When they faced an overwhelming lack, they experienced the supernatural power of multiplication.

When they were in the darkest of times, God gave them a light, a miracle in the dark.

The Light of the World

Jesus celebrated Hanukkah, otherwise known as the Festival of Lights as we see in John 10:22. While the Jewish people celebrated the miracle of a temple light, the ultimate miracle was walking among them: Yeshua, the Light of the world.

Jesus is the fulfillment of this Feast. Thus, it is fitting that He said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world…”

Yeshua is the light of heaven! He is our lamp that will never go out.

The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. Revelation 21:23 Not only that, but Jesus also said in Matthew 5:14-14:  “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Not only does Jesus call Himself the Light of the world, but he says WE are too! As sons and daughters, we are called to reflect HIS light to the world. Jesus invites us to participate in His holy mission—to be a lamp for the lost, helping them find their way to Him.

6 Keys and Prophetic Words December 2025

As we come to the end of the year, I feel a heavy burden on my heart. Many people feel like they are crossing the finish line of yet another year, only to see no breakthrough in the areas they are praying for. Let me encourage your heart. This time of year is a reminder that God breaks through at the LAST HOUR. He breaks through when HOPE HAS LITERALLY RUN DRY. He is a last-minute miracle kind of God. He often breaks in at the final deadline with his miracle. He causes the dawn to break in our lives after the long night. This is the reminder of Hanukkah—he is still the same God who meets us at the end of our hope. This is the month of the winter solstice (December 22, 2025)—the darkest day of the year. But after that, the light gets brighter as the days get longer. This is the month to remember that the story doesn't end as the darkness begins to grow. It's a beginning—a time to prepare for God's light to break through in our situations. During this season of miracles, it may feel illogical to you—it may feel uncomfortable to stretch your faith—but it’s time to HOPE. His word will not return void.

When you feel between a rock and a hard place, God will help you break through in a way only He can accomplish. Here are a few prophetic words and reminders for you as we head toward a new year:

  1. Prepare for Overflow

Like the supernatural oil that began to flow in the Hanukkah story, God wants to pour fresh oil into you that will refuel your relationship with him. Even when you want to give up, he will never give up on you. As you are still in his presence and receive from Him, bring your empty vessel (you!) like the story of the widow with the empty vessels. Just as a miracle oil filled the empty vessels in that story, God will fill you to overflowing, too.

  1. God will Rekindle Your Fire for Him (Let Him)

He will help HEAL your burnout so your lamp can keep burning. He will light the first love fire in your heart again.

He will help you make it through the dark, silent night.

When it feels like your lamp light is burning low and you are running out of oil, you will experience the miracle of multiplication and supernatural increase. When you are between a rock and a hard place, you will find the grace to break through…. It’s time to see miracles multiplied. Activation: Spend time in stillness in his presence. Put on a quiet worship song or sit in silence. You don't need to do anything. Just invite the Holy Spirit to rest on you. Let this time be a time not to pray, intercede, or petition. But sit still and allow the awareness of his presence with you to overwhelm you with peace.

3. God's Silence Precedes Important Breakthroughs

Do you feel like you've been in a desert of hearing God? Or feeling at a crossroads of transition, only to feel like God's instruction is unclear? The Hanukkah miracle took place during the 400 “silent years” before Jesus arrived on the scene. When God seems silent, he’s preparing your next thing. (The 400 years of silence refers to the period between the Old Testament and the New Testament, when God did not deliver prophetic messages through the prophets (Malachi was the last prophet of the Old Testament) — roughly 400 years.)

The first thing that came next was the announcement of John the Baptist’s birth and the beginning of the messianic fulfillment in Jesus Christ.

  • Gabriel’s announcement to Zechariah (Luke 1:5–25) about John the Baptist being born to prepare the way for the Lord.

  • This was followed by Mary’s visitation and the angel Gabriel announcing Jesus’ birth (Luke 1:26–38).

God breaks the silence with the promise of redemption.

Perhaps the next move he is about to make, the next instruction he is about to give, will be significant. Don't be discouraged, but continue to trust in Him.

He is doing a new thing. He is moving in a new way. He is on the move.

  1. Number 8 Prophetic Meaning: Prepare for New Beginnings

There is a pattern with the number eight (8) in Scripture and biblical history. It often represents new beginnings and resurrection.

  • The lamp oil lasted for 8 days in the Hanukkah story.

  • 8 people were on the ark with Noah.

  • After his resurrection, Jesus revealed himself alive 8 times just before his ascension into heaven. (Source: Biblestudy.org)

The miracle oil marked a NEW BEGINNING of the 2nd temple. The eight people on the Ark started a new beginning after the FLOOD. Jesus's resurrection marked the ultimate new beginning.

We can learn from this that after a HARD season, God can bring a NEW BEGINNING TO US and RESURRECT that which has died. So, hope again as we move into a new year. December is not an ending but a beginning to NEW BEGINNINGS.

  1. Don't Doubt in the Dark

It takes an impossible situation to see a miracle. Do not doubt in the current darkness what Jesus said in the light! You will find yourself rejoicing on the other side.

Seeds must be planted in the depths of dark, cold soil to one day spring up and grow. If you have labored and don't see any signs of life breaking through from the ground, don't lose heart. Hope in the dark! The blessing will come. I am giving you a promise now while the seed is still in the barn. You have not yet harvested your grain, and your grapevines, fig trees, pomegranates, and olive trees have not yet produced their crops. But from this day onward I will bless you.” Haggai 2:19

  1. Be the Light

I want to encourage you to be the light this December. It's time to come out of hiding and let yourself be seen. Let's look at these words from Jesus again:

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Sometimes we wait for the perfect moment to take steps of faith. We want our lives to be perfectly worked out first. We don't feel ready to be seen. It feels safer in hiding. To hide our light—to not share our faith. To not let our gifts make room for us. To stay small.

But the Lord is saying to many of you today, "Let your light shine! You can shine and take steps of faith even while you wait on me to fulfill answers to prayer." Sometimes we can break out of stagnation and the dark night by stirring up our faith. Sometimes by being a light for others, light breaks in for us too. You don't have to "feel" ready to "be" ready to be a light ... go ahead and shine.

As you spend time in his presence and let him fill you ... let your light shine again. Others need the light that you have to see their way in the dark.

Hope Again in 2025

It's time to hope again. It's time to expect miracles in the dark, new beginnings, and God's resurrection power to come upon your life in this season. It's time to be filled to overflowing and let your light shine before people—so Jesus can be glorified.

I pray this word encourages you! Here's a prayer you can pray: Dear Heavenly Father,

Help me to hope again! As I move into a new year, I pray for you to create miracles in the dark. Lighten my path. I pray you will bring new beginnings and resurrect the things in my life that are now meant to bloom again. Help me to walk in step with you through the rest of 2025 into 2026, Holy Spirit! Amen

P.S. I can't wait to share about new opportunities for you to grow in hearing God's voice and the prophetic gift within community in 2026! Be on the lookout for updates on my social media pages.
